We had an awesome visit last week with first and second-year Occupational Therapy students from Clarkson University! We had a great day showing Professor Lisa Tebo and 40 students from the program around the Saranac Laboratory Museum and Trudeau Sanatorium. The students were excited to pose in front of the Workshop at Trudeau Sanatorium, where pioneering work using occupational therapy with TB patients took place.
Thanks for coming to learn with us!

It's Friday, so here's a Trudeau-themed Dolly Parton Challenge to start the weekend off right (including a staff-favorite bonus version below...)!
Have a great weekend, everyone! As we begin the new year, we want to let you know about new plans at the Saranac Laboratory Museum.
Our open hours all year round will be: Tuesday - Saturday, 10AM to 5PM Our new admission rates for 2020 will be: - Adults: $7 - Students with I.D.: $5 - Children 12 and under: free of charge - Free admission to members of Historic Saranac Lake (find out about membership on our website) We look forward to offering free admission for the local community and for seniors on special days throughout the year. We also are proud members of the Museums for All program, offering free museum admission for those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits), and of the Blue Star Museum program, offering free admission to active service members and their families in the summer season. Additionally, a museum admission pass is available for check-out at the Saranac Lake Free Library, providing free admission for library patrons. Despite numerous expansions and improvements to the museum over the years, this is the first increase in admissions from the original $5/person rate that we have charged since the museum opened in 2007. Thank you for your support!
On the tenth day of Saranac Lake-mas, your museum gave to you... Ed Lamy a-leaping! Lamy was an international speed-skating champion and record-breaking barrel jumper (and all around star athlete!). In 1912, he set a world record by jumping 14 barrels, or 27 feet 8 inches! Amazingly, all of his records still stood unbeaten at the time of his death in 1962.

On the ninth day of Saranac Lake-mas, your museum gave to you... majorettes dancing! These ladies appeared in the 1972 Winter Carnival Parade along with floats featuring Winnie the Pooh, nurses, and Smokey the Bear.
