On September 10 at 5:30PM, Historic Saranac Lake will host a reading of SAFE HARBOR, a play about the TB years in Saranac Lake. The play will be read from a cure porch in the village to a small, socially distant audience.

Attendees will need to bring their own chairs and wear masks. In the case of inclement weather, the event will move to Monday, September 14. Directions will be emailed to ticket purchasers by September 9.

SAFE HARBOR is a play about two people whose lives intersect in a small cure cottage in Saranac Lake. It was written to illuminate the experiences of many who, made outcasts by TB in their own homes, were able to reclaim their humanity here. SAFE HARBOR was written in 1990 by Karen L. Lewis one of the founders of Adirondack Stage Rats, a collective of theatre artists and devotees dedicated to creating “Intimate small batch theatre for discriminating play-goers.”
