Sealed Bids will be received by Historic Saranac Lake on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 3pm. (Please note that the deadline has been extended from the original date, which was 6/24/24.) Sealed bids will be received at 89 Church Street, Suite 2, Saranac Lake, NY at 3:00, at which time and place said sealed Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids can be sent in advance to Landmark Consulting LLC, 83 Grove Avenue, Albany, NY 12208 (518-458-8942).
The project involves the repair/restoration of the slate and EPDM roofing and copper flashing on the Saranac Laboratory building, as shown in the Contract Documents. For a digital copy of the construction documents, call Amy Catania at 518-891-4606 or email [email protected].
This project is funded in part by a grant from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation through Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993. All bidders are subject to the terms of the NYS Master Contract for Grants – Standard Terms and Conditions, which can be found online at http://grantsreform.ny.gov. All bidders are subject to the terms of the Master Contract Attachment A-1 (State Funded Grant)or Attachment A-2 (Federally Funded Grant) - Program Specific Terms and Conditions. Though there are no required goals for MWBE participation in this grant funded project, the successful bidder will be required to make a Good Faith Effort in the utilization of MWBE’s and furnish reports showing the participation of various business enterprises of subcontractors and suppliers on the contract. Upon selection, for all contracts that equal or exceed $100,000, the contractor will be required to submit to the State a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire: Construction – For-Profit. The questionnaire can be found online at http://www.osc.state.ny.us/vendrep/forms_vendor.html
Saranac Laboratory Roof Repairs Rehabilitation Project
This property, originally built in 1894 is considered a contributing structure to the significance of the Church Street National Register Historic District. Contractors must be able to demonstrate successful completion of restoration projects of similar scope on other National Register-listed properties. No deviations from the contract documents shall be permitted and no features or materials shall be altered, removed, destroyed, or taken from the premises without the explicit written approval of the Owner or Architect as being consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Qualified contractors may request bid documents in electronic PDF format from Historic Saranac Lake by calling Historic Saranac Lake (518)891-4606 or emailing [email protected]. Documents may also be examined at no charge by appointment at Historic Saranac Lake.
