Historic Saranac Lake

Members of Historic Saranac Lake gathered in January for a mortgage burning party. A generous donation at the end of the year made it pssible to retire the mortgage on the Saranac Laboratory. Winter 2012 Events

• Saturday, February 11: Winter Carnival Parade -- This year we are joining forces with Trudeau Institute. Come march with us! Contact us at 891-4606 to help with our float, titled, "Alien Germ Invasion."

• Tuesday, February 14 : Winter Walking Tour -- Meet at the Riverside Park Bandshell at 10:30am. The tour ends at the Saranac Laboratory Museum. $6/person. Children and members free of charge. Meet snow or shine. Includes a stop at the Blue Moon Cafe for a hot beverage and a history chat.

• Thursday, March 8 Tax Credit Workshop -- Find out if you are eligible for a New York State tax credit for repairs you make on your older home or business on the National Register. Those interested in finding out about how to get listed on the National Register are also welcome. $5/person. Brought to us by the Preservation League of New York State. Stay tuned for more information and to register for the workshop.

Winter Schedule: Museum and Tours

Regular Museum Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00-3:00. Occasionally we are closed to attend a meeting, so it is best to call ahead when planning a visit. $5 admission, members and children free. Please contact us at 518-891-4606 or mail@historicsaranaclake.org.

Monthly Downtown Walking Tour: November-February: Second Tuesdays: Meet at Riverside Park Bandshell. Tours begin at 10:30 am, $5/person, children and members free.
