Historic Saranac Lake present a rare concert by Iva Bittová, an extraordinary artist who has drawn inspiration from Belá Bartók. Ms. Bittová will visit the Bartók Cabin during her time in Saranac Lake.

Summer 2010 Tours, Lectures, and Events

• Tuesday Walking Tours begin July 13. Meet at the Harrietstown Town Hall at 11:00. Walking tour of the historic downtown to the Saranac Laboratory Museum. $7 per person, children free of charge. Walking tours meet every Tuesday through October 5.

• Summer 2010: Museum Open The Saranac Laboratory Musem opens with regular summer hours, Wednesday - Friday from 10:00-2:00, or any day by appointment. $5 / person, children free of charge.

• September 14: Adirondack Artifact Night We invite area residents to dig out historical artifacts from their homes and businesses and share the stories behind the objects for our first-ever “Adirondack Artifact Night." Author Andy Flynn will moderate “Adirondack Artifact Night” starting at 7 p.m. in the John Black Room of the Saranac Laboratory, 89 Church St. in Saranac Lake. During the first half of the program, he will present a brief “Community History Writing Workshop” and show the audience how he performs research for his award-winning Adirondack Attic History Project with the Adirondack Museum. For the second half of the program, the show-and-tell portion, audience members will be showing off their artifacts and telling stories about the objects. The program is free and open to the public. • September 19: Solo Performance by Iva Bittová. The acclaimed Czech singer and violinist will perform on Sunday, September 19 at 4pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake. A reception will follow in the John Black Room of the Saranac Laboratory, at 89 Church Street. See Press Release.

• October 16: Saint Bernard's Cemetery Tour. Bob Seidenstein leads this historical tour as a fundraiser for Historic Saranac Lake. Call HSL at 891-4606 for more information.
